Founder and Owner

My name is Ms. T, the founder and owner of The Literacy Method. I am originally from Chicago, Illinois and relocated to Atlanta, Georgia during the pandemic, where I continued my lifelong passion for education and child development.

With over 15 years of experience in the early childhood education field, I have dedicated my career to helping children build strong foundational skills in reading, writing, phonics, and communication. I truly enjoy watching children grow—not only academically, but also in confidence and ambition as they begin to believe in their own abilities.

Throughout my career, I have worked in several childcare centers, where I have helped elevate learning environments and implemented strategies that support higher-level thinking and improved early literacy outcomes. My approach is always centered on creating engaging, structured, and supportive learning experiences tailored to each child’s needs.

As a mother of three, I also understand the importance of patience, encouragement, and individualized attention in a child’s development. My personal and professional experiences have shaped my belief that every child has the ability to succeed when given the right tools and guidance.

Through The Literacy Method, my goal is to provide meaningful, results-driven literacy support that empowers students to become confident, capable readers and communicators.

Mission

The mission of The Literacy Method is to empower children to become confident readers, writers, and communicators through personalized literacy support. We are committed to meeting each child where they are academically and guiding them toward meaningful growth, confidence, and a lifelong love of learning.

Vision

We aim to build a literacy coaching organization that provides children with the tools, strategies, and confidence needed to master reading and writing skills, empowering them to become independent learners while expanding into a full-service learning center with trained educators and a dedicated location.

Morals and Values

The Literacy Method is built on the belief that every child deserves the opportunity to become a confident reader, writer, and communicator. We value patience, consistency, and individualized learning, understanding that each student develops at their own pace and requires a unique approach. We prioritize creating a safe, encouraging, and supportive learning environment where students feel comfortable making mistakes and growing from them. We are honest with parents about progress, needs, and goals at all times. Also, we value partnership with families, believing that student success improves when parents and educators work together. Most importantly, we are committed to building confidence as much as academic skills, helping students not only improve in reading and writing but also believe in their own ability to succeed.
